Orange County Sheriffs Arrest Costa Mesa Teacher Accused of Child Molestation
Posted in Child Molestation,Firm News on January 23, 2019
In an urgent press release, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department announced today (Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019) that investigators had arrested Brandon Jacob Nease on suspicion of felony child molestation. The decision to arrest Nease stems directly from possible child sexual abuse committed against a 13-year-old boy in 2011, when Nease was 18 or 19. However, investigators are concerned that Nease’s varied background as a teacher throughout the region could mean he has committed numerous acts of sexual child abuse across the years.
Known portions of Brandon Nease’s employment history are as follows:
- Costa Mesa High School: Drama teacher; most recently or presently
- Boys and Girls Club of Tustin and Fountain Valley: Dance teacher; beginning in 2013
- Musical Theatre West in Long Beach: Education and Outreach Coordinator; 2015 to 2017
- Camp James in Newport Beach: Dance specialist; 2012 to 2015
- Musical Theater Village in Irvine: Choreographer/Director; 2008 to 2016
In each of his roles, Nease had close, unsupervised interactions with children of various ages. It is not known if any other children have been abused by Nease during these years, but investigators are urging parents and victims to call the Special Victims Detail at 714-647-7419 if they have any information about Nease. All information can be provided anonymously by calling 855-TIP-OCCS and contacting Orange County Crime Stoppers.
At this time, Nease is free from custody after posting a $100,000 bond.
